The legendary first person shooter call of duty has yet another installment to add to it’s already world renowned roaster. I had my doubts about this particular part because Activision the publishers had fired Infinity ward, the pioneering developers for the series and brought in a company called Treyarch.
After playing the game itself I was impressed! Treyarch have done an awesome job considering the shoes they had to fill. The graphics, game play and specially the storyline are very well thought out and made. All in all pleasure to sit through.
It is then I decided to compile this cheat guide to help out those of you stuck somewhere or those who would like to add a bit of more pizzazz to the proceedings. So without further adieu let’s delve into the cheat codes.
Note: These cheat codes are for xbox 360 platform and hence would be using related terminologies
Activating cheat code:
Most video games would suffice with the customary pause and press enter to bring up input box routine but the developers at Treyarch have left no stone unturned to make their mark when it comes to creativity and innovation.
The cheat code can be activated from the main menu when the player is supposedly tied down to a chair. Repetitively press right trigger and left trigger to break lose from the bonds. Immediately after this trigger mashing job and when you are free first achievement of the game “Ask me nicely” will be unlocked.
But no time to be complacent! Right behind to the chair you were tied to is a computer terminal, this terminal is your access point to CIA data system. Typing codes from the below mentioned list will result in unlocking hidden content of the game.

| DOA | Unlocks Dead Ops arcade. Marks a permanent entry under the zombie menu and allows a conventional but fun filled zombie mashing game to be available for single player or co-op mode. Playing this game through will also earn you “insert coin” achievement. |

| ZORK, HELLO SAILOR | Another code for unlocking Zork the great under ground empire text based game. If you play the game through, achievement “eaten by a grue” will be earned. |
| LIST AUDIO FILE AND PHOTOGRAPHS | Pretty authentic for a cheat code! For unlocking audio files and photographs enter DIR. This command can be used in conjunction with the CAT command. |
| Open Corresponding File | Key in CAT [filename] or PRINT [filename] to open files. Once again very authentic for a cheat code! |
| Detail of Login names | Seems like Treyarch wants to impart a lesson in UNIX to the players as well! To reveal details of login names enter WHO, this can be used in combination with RLOGIN command. Password would be required though. |

Achievement List:
Call of duty Black Ops comes with its vast array of achievements which are unlocked when certain in game requirements are filled. Find below all of those requirements and resultant achievements.

Locating the pack-a-punch crossbow during zombie mode
Pack-a-punch is a powerful crossbow and much sought after in Black Ops. To locate it during zombie mode crawl your way into middle room and tinker with the defcon level. Adjust it to defcon 5. This will make the teleporters to take you directly to presidential suite. All Switches containing the pack-a-punch crossbow can be found here. Three of the switches are upstairs while a single one is downstairs.
Call of Duty Black Ops Perks
COD black ops come with various inbuilt perks which bestow various improvements of different kind on the player. Just like the achievements, certain conditions need to be fulfilled to unlock perks. The perks can be further improved by playing the game at varying difficulty level; this is known as unlocking the pro version of these perks.
Early game or Tier One Perks
Perk name: Scavenger
Effects: restock on ammo and grenades scavenging them from corpses of fallen enemies.
Pro version: Scavenger Pro
Effects: Scavenger perk plus player begins with extra ammo magazines and stock up on tactical grenades from corpses of fallen enemies
Perk name: Ghost
Effects: Stay out of line of sight of enemy spy aircrafts
Pro Version: Ghost Pro
Effects: Ghost plus elude targeting system of aircrafts, Infrared scopes and sentry guns. No red crosshair or name is displayed when targeted by enemy.
Perk name: Lightweight
Effects: Move faster
Pro version: Lightweight Pro
Effects: move faster and no damage incurred when falling from high altitude.
Perk name: Flak Jacket
Effects: Minimizes damage incurred from explosions
Pro version: Flak Jacket Pro
Effect: in addition to minimizing damage from explosions, repel fire damage and safely throw back frag grenades.
Perk name: Hardline
Effects: Earn Killing spree rewards even if you fall short of one kill then the stipulated amount.
Pro version: Hardline Pro
Effects: In addition to one mentioned above grants the ability to alter the contents of care package.
Secondary game level Perks or Tier Two Perks
Perk name: Hardened
Effects: Grants ability to rip walls and objects with bullets
Pro version: Hardened Pro
Effects: in addition to hardened perk the pro hardened allows the player to cause additional bullet damage to aircrafts and turrets. Steadies the player when shot by enemies
Perk name: Scout
Effects: ability to hold breath longer while taking a shot through a scoped weapon providing more stability and accuracy
Pro version: Scout Pro
Effects: Scout effect plus ability to switch weapons at a faster pace.
Perk name: Steady Aim
Effects: retain more accuracy while firing a weapon from the hip
Pro Version: Steady Aim Pro
Effects: additional effect to Steady aim includes aim with faster pace while running and quick recovery from melee knife lunges.
Perk name: Sleight of hand
Effects: Faster reloading speed
Pro Version: Sleight of hand pro
Effects: aim sights faster with all scoped weapons with exception of sniper rifles
Perk name: Warlord
Effects: attach two enhancements to primary weapon (under barrel not included)
Pro Version: Warlord Pro
Effects: grants one additional tactical and lethal grenade with exception of willy pete.
Tier 3 perks
Perk name: Tactical Mask
Effects: breathing protection when surrounded by Nova gas.
Pro Version: Tactical Mask pro
Effects: minimizes the effects of flash bangs, concussion grenades, makes the position of an enemy concussed or flashed more visible.
Perk name: Marathon
Effects: Run for a longer period of time without getting exhausted
Pro Version: Marathon Pro
Effects: sprint or run for endlessly without getting exhausted
Perk name: Ninja
Effects: Stealthy movement, less noise
Pro Version: Ninja Pro
Effects: in addition to ninja it grants the ability to listen to incoming enemy movement on much enhanced level.
Perk name: Second chance
Effects: un-holster secondary weapon (pistol) before dying
Pro Version: Second Chance Pro
Effects: in addition to second chance player survives for longer and can also be resurrected by team mates.
Perk name: Hacker
Effects: find out location of enemy equipment, explosives planted and location of turrets
Pro Version: Hacker Pro
Effects: addition to hacker a player can destroy enemy equipment and turrets, plant bobby traps on commandeered crates and bypass motion censors.
Challenges:
These are certain conditions which must be fulfilled by using a specific skill.
Melee kills: Kill 15 enemies using melee weapon
Escape death: survive 5 time after getting hurt and near to death
Offense medals: slay 10 enemies when they are about to complete some objective, this one requires timing and a correct assessment of enemy strength. If carried out successfully grants one medal per kill.
Resupplies: Restock your depleted inventory 150 times utilizing the scavenger perk.
Grenade Kills: kill five enemies with a single resupplied grenade
Kill count: Kill five enemies without dying yourself five times.
