The pride of Xbox console, bungie’s magnum opus and Microsoft’s most successful franchise yet Halo reach has finally been released. If the pre-orders weren’t enough to convince the critics about how eagerly anticipated the latest installment in the halo series is then the after game sales figure should certainly baffle them. This cheat guide contains cheat codes for getting yourself out of tricky situations, uncovering hidden content, and hints. So without further adieu let’s delve into the thick of things.
Secret Content
There is plentiful secret content incorporated in halo reach. Most people if not told about them would never notice it but that’s what this guide is about! We make sure you know every hidden nock and cranny in halo reach and the maximum out of this one of a kind FPS.
1 - Wolf Picture
Yup the above definitely says wolf picture. The best way to view this would be if you have an EVA helmet with the silver visor on. Go to the armory and rotate the left stick on the joy pad to angle the camera until you see the picture of a wolf reflected on the helmet. Pretty cool huh?
2 - Lone Wolf mission
Surprised? Played through halo and no mission with such name came up? Well you must’ve skipped the credits roll while stifling a yawn and hence bypassed it! Sounds confusing? Let’s make it clear after you have finished the game in any difficulty mode wait patiently till the credits roll by and finish. Presto! Lone wolf mission will be unlocked and ready to be played.
3 - “New Alexandria” mission Club Errera’s Music and Brutes dancing
Brutes dance party? Yeah better believe it! To see this when you are playing mission 7 “New Alexandria” on reaching club Errera, go back to the hospital. Locate the ledges below the entrance and when you see a green light. Trigger it and then return to the club; once you enter you will notice the track has changed to “never surrender”. Some people might want to change the track again if so then head back to the roof of the club and again locate a green switch, activate it and then return to the club. Guess what? Not only the track has changed to “siege of Madrigal” but if you head over to the dance club there will be quite a few brutes boogying it out there! There’ll be a brute DJ, a brute bar tender and a grunt getting funky.
Credits Earning and related cheats
Earning easy credits in Halo reach takes a big of ingenuity and a very unconventional procedure. First of all you have to get “Firefight” mode activated then go to “game options” and select “Spartan settings”. Locate and select “base traits” menu and then the “shields and health” option. Alter the damage resistance option to “invulnerable”. Adjust the difficulty to legendary and initiate a match. Sounds like quite some work right? Well there’s still some more to come, you want easy credits then you got to put in little extra effort! After you are done with menu roaming and adjusting the last phase is seeking out enemies and letting them attack you. The amounts of credit you will earn are estimated 10 per minutes.
The good thing about this process although cumbersome is that it can be repeated as many times as desired. A word of caution though this entire process will only work on the unpatched version of Halo Reach. If you have downloaded the patch and implemented it then this won’t work.

Once you have transcended to the rank of captain it will increase the amount of credits game bestows upon you, it will become a notch above 4100 credits for one hour of fun filled game. As with the method mentioned above the ranks and credit charts this process can also be repeated as many times you wish.
Other cheats
Getting a move on with cinematic scenes
Halo Reach has awesome cinematic scenes that are displayed when player reaches a certain predefined point in the game. Though visually stunning these can be a nuisance for the impatient types who want to go ahead with game. The conventional way of skipping through the cut scenes is holding down the right trigger button which can cause ache to that all important trigger finger. Luckily there is way to avoid this:
Press right trigger + press start button
Release right trigger + press start button
This will keep the scenes going along at a fast pace until you decide to pause or press the right trigger again.
Invincibility (God Mode) and Armor Lock
You are going to need the assistance of another player for this cheat to work. Initiate forge mode and craft armor lock then drop it so player two can pick it. Repeat the armor lock creation process and press the red B button on the controller. Go to delete all of these newly created armor locks from the map menu click it and just put the pointer over yes but don’t click it. Player two now has to come into action and go to armor lock. While player two has initiated armor lock you have to click the yes button which would delete these armor locks from the map. This will render player two invincible and provide a permanent armor lock which is completely mobile.
Perform faster melee attacks
If you think your melee attacks are slow follow this method. It requires quick finger play on the controller but will increase the melee attack speed considerably.
Press right button and then quickly press blue X button and right button again.
Lower Weapon
This cheat doesn’t work in online mode. While in offline mode press right analog stick and while keeping it pressed hit reload and grenade switch.
Saving yourself from fall damage
How many times it has happened that you fight through hordes of enemies only to die from falling from a high altitude? It frustrating and annoying! Here’s how you can save yourself from fall damage. When falling and two thirds into your fall get into a crouching position immediately, this will reduce the fall damage considerably.
Customizing Object Colors
Some people are just not satisfied with the way things are by default and like to add their own personal touch to it. In halo reach there are certain objects which allow the user to change their colors. To do this hold the desired object and press blue x button and select “change object color” option.
Avatars Awards
Note: This is only applicable for online gaming.
Fulfill the following conditions to unlock cool new avatars for your xbox live dashboard.
Kat’s Helmet: Seek out the person who killed your teammate in a multiplayer and take him or her out
Emile’s Helmet: To earn this award kill an opponent while they are charging to initiate an energy sword attack
Jun’s Helmet: This one is a little tricky to obtain as it requires a person to take out 100 enemies consecutively without once getting killed themselves in multiplayer or firefight matchmaking.
Jorge’s Helmet: Go on a killing spree and kill 5 enemies with only 4 seconds gap in between each kill
Carter’s Helmet: The pre-requisite for getting this avatar unlocked is playing on the most difficult level legendary and not die a single time. Sounds like a daunting task doesn’t it? The easy way to get this avatar is playing through to the end of the level and saving the game and then quitting. Use the resume game option and then finish the level off without dying. The quitting and saving negates if you have died before and lets you resume like new.
